domain of f(x) is the set of all real numbers variable x can take such that the expression defining the function is real. u can never have 0 in the denom. so u get |dw:1333206242885:dw| C is the right answer

which one?

all that mess really means is that if x=1 then f(x)=10 otherwise it is 1/(x-2)
anonymous
  • anonymous
if x is not equal to 1 and if x is equal to 1

if x=1 then f(x)=10 if x<>1 then f(x)= 1/(x-2)

so what has that got to do with what angela10793 posted?
anonymous
  • anonymous
they did that so that the function WOULD be defined at -10, where if they didn't do that then Angela is right, it would be undefined at -10 and 2
anonymous
  • anonymous
as it is, it is undefined at 2, but is ok at 10 probably disjoint, but defined

still a bit confused but thankss.
