Do you know what MLK meant by "Even if I knew the world would end tomorrow, I'd plant an apple seed anyway"?

I think he means that even if the world was going to end we should try to make it a better place while we still live here.

I do not think you can know what he meant, but you can interpret it based on your experiences. My interpretation would be that, even "if I knew the world would end tomorrow," we should act for the better outcome, because what we "knew" is not necessarily truth.

calicub10 is right. MLK cannot be asked what he meant by that so all we can do is interpret it's meaning. The problem with that is that one person's meaning is going to be different from the next. For example I interpret it to mean, "live for today; live in this moment without regard for what tomorrow holds." If this is something that you have to write about, I suggest you come up with an interpretation that means something to you. You will be able to express it better than trying to write about someone else's interpretation because it will be coming from you. You cannot write on my interpretation or anyone else's because you do not know what lead us there. However, you can take the ideas of others and find truth in them. As long as that truth is your own you will be able to expound upon it.
