For consecutive seasons, farmers have exceeded their pesticide use. How will this affect the community of animals that share their ecosystem? Answer Pesticides will not harm any of the animals that live in the area. Any animal susceptible to pesticides will die or suffer altered reproductive cycles. Most animals will immigrate to avoid pesticide exposure. Any animal exposed to the pesticide will die in the area surrounding the farms.

DDT was a pesticide that was once used extensively in the US. Unfortunately, it made bird egg shells thinner, especially the eggs of birds of prey. This meant that when the mother bird sat on her eggs, she'd crush them. It's one reason why bald eagle numbers declined so much and only rebounded after DDT was banned.
