Just a suggestion, there's quite a lot of space for widescreen users, shown in the attachment, see if you guys can extend the whole page so that the space isn't wasted :) and widescreen users can see more or wider. :D (or put something new : eg. Newsfeed from OS)

Yeah! my screen is pretty wide and I feel like a lot of space is wasted

Try opening a new window and looking at two groups at once. Genius! Seriously though, we're not really looking to expand our layout beyond the current max of ~1100px of width. We may toy with some stuff like that in the future, but for now we're focused on other things.
