They dont have anything out of the cell membranes but that is where they expel wastes and such.......
Could you say that flagella is outside the cell membrane though?
I think the correct answer is "cell walls" which are made out of proteins, cellulose and in some cases sillica.
Ok so Protists have both a cell wall and a cell membrane then?
Some Protists have something outside the cell membrane.. ever heard of Foraminifera? :) (Actually, I'm not completely sure if the something I'm thinking of is outside the membrane, but I think it is.)
Yes, they do indeed.
Correct me if I'm wrong, blues, but I'm pretty sure there are many Protists that only have a cell membrane. Amoeba proteus, for example, or Paramecium caudatum.
i think she meant in general Protists dont ave anything outside the cell membrane i dont know about the flagella though maybe
Yes I meant in general, but I don't think it can actually be a flagella, because the answer is supposed to be two words and I can't find it anywhere online or in my textbook.
There are three kinds of protists: loosely, animal like protists, plant like protists and slime molds. The plant like protists have cell walls; the animal and fungus like protists don't.
Maybe its cell walls though IDK i just think im probably overlooking this whole thing
And, as I tried to hint at earlier, some protists have shells!
I'll just go with Cell Wall then, thanks guys ;)
yes. they have cell membranes. This is where they take in nutrients and expel waste.
