Arun is constructing a triangle DEF congruent to triangle PQR. An acute scalene triangle PQR. He marked a point D and adjusted the width of the compass to the length of PR and drew an arc from point D. He marked a point F on the arc. He then adjusted the width of the compass to the length of half of PQ and drew an arc from point D. What error did Martha make in these steps? Answer Making an arc instead of a circle. Not using a ruler to measure QR. Making an arc instead of line segment with a ruler. Not adjusting the width of the compass to the length of PQ.

@Tchan you can use the drawing tool to draw a picture, if you think that can help users understand the question better. The problem with your question is, people are getting deflected after reading and realizing that they have to imagine a lots of picture

@Tchan For making the side DE=PQ, Arun should adjust the width of the compass to the "length of PQ" not half of PQ, so he made an error while measuring PQ
