if we asked to find the zero function r(t)=5t3-8t2+7t +2 which task would you complete first - rational root theorem and descartes' rule signs ?

    I would use descartes' rule of signs first.

    Because if Descartes shows me that there are no positive roots then I wouldn't try any positive numbers as a result of the rational roots theorem.
