In the present day America, the U.S. Constitution is regarded by many citizens to be a sacred text like the Bible, and with any revision to it is considered blasphemous. The reason for the U.S. Constitution having a high “religious-like” status is because of many Americans carry a common belief of idolaltry of the founding fathers. Larry Sabato uses reason to prove why it is a misconception by some Americans to believe that the U.S. constitution is an untouchable document. Sabato in his book, A More Perfect Constitution, powerfully argues for the revision of an outdated text which is in the U.S. constitution. The way he does this is by presenting a multitude of potential changes to the structure of American government. However, Sabato does not impulsively insert his ideas without thought, but following deliberation, uses a precise and clear argument on the best form of government in 21st century America. In addition, to the presentation of his ideas of revision to the constitution, he realizes it’s merely the beginning of what will be a long discussion and debate to come over the topic of revision. He makes three impactful statements that can change the way politics is set up and viewed. The first is not dealing with structural change. He argues that change is welcome and needed. The second is the requirement for non-partisan redistricting to put an end to the unchallengeable realm of the house of incumbents. Thirdly, to create an orderly presidential selection system that will subdue the non-stop parade of presidential campaigning. The review of these three statements and comparing my own proposal of revision to Sabato’s will help force the remaining skeptical people to change the constitution and to accept that it is outdated in certain areas and needs revising. The topic of constitutional revision cannot be discussed until people can stop the habit of idolatry. The worship of institutional idols, the founding fathers, has prevented consideration of revising the constitution. I checked that first part of your paper and I corrected your grammar and vocabulary. I would not do the whole work since that would be unfair. Try to learn from what I did. Compare your original work with this revised work and hopefully you would learn.
