(x+1)^2 = x^1+2 + 1^1+2 = x^3 + 1^3 =x^3 + 1 Does this make sense? or am I missing something?

    i.e. x*(x+1) +1 *(x+1) = x*x+x*1+1*x+1*1 =x^2 +2x+1
