Let the son's age be 'x' Eva's age is 2x Now using the question statement, x+2x=69 3x=69 Solve for 'x', that gives us x = 23 Hence, Eva is 46

    Son's age = s Eva's age = 2s 2s + s = 69 3s = 69 s = 23 So Eva's age is 23(2), or 46 years old. @mubzz is right.
