Use elimination to solve the system. What is the value of x? 4x + 7y = -14 and 8x + 5y = 8

    1) Multiply the first equation by 2. 2) subtract both equations and solve for \(y\). 3) When solved for \(y\), substitute its value in any of the equations and then solve for \(x\).
