To type a small letter “z”, you would use the right little finger.

Maybe you would, but I certainly wouldn't.

I use the right little finger for the shift key to type a big Z. (lies, I never touch the right shift, ctrl, or alt keys; I use left shift/ctrl/alt for everything, but I think typing classes want you to use the right shift for capital Z) I use my left ring finger for z. My pinky is used for the left ctrl key

This question only makes sense if you work on with a german keyboard layout, because here the z and the y are swapped. I usually use the left index to use the z, but like @agdgdgdgwngo i think that they teach this in typing classes.
