Myra bought a pair of jeans that cost $55. The sales tax rate is 10 percent. What is the total amount she paid for the jeans?

    @Alex24C You're asking a number of these, which are very similar and clearly from some homework or something. Are you familiar with what a percent is? In this case you're adding 10% onto $55, which is 100% cost + 10% tax = 110% total of the 55%.

    The sales tax would be $5.50 bringing the toal to $60.50.
