wow so much eager to knw the new update info :)
Happy Saturday everyone. So first things first: I want to give you guys a huge apology for our downtime this morning. By the looks of things we were down for an hour and a half overall. This downtime isn't related to our server or due to any hardware issues. Lift, the framework we're based on, appears to have some condition where it starts throwing exceptions while trying to render our pages. I honestly don't understand much about it, because @shadowfiend has taken the helm at resolving this issue AND he is a Lift committer so he should be able to directly fix anything that he finds. We'll keep you posted. Without further adue.... RELEASE NOTES! WHAT'S NEW? - Performance enhancements: We've moved a lot of heavy tasks onto the server and done some other magic that should dramatically increase performance all around. Let us know how it looks. - Fixed a bug where guests could cause the entire page to crash. - Fixed a bug where the copy drawing tool wasn't working. - Some moderator tools improvements that I will email the mods about later. (Feel free to poke around the log if you want to check it out.) - New header: As you can see we've rearranged the header a bit. Let us know what you think. ... and by far the biggest change ... - New inviter workflow: You can now invite users using the helpful little invite button at the top - either by email or by Facebook. When someone accepts your invite you'll both get some boost to your raw score on the site (the thing that helps determine your smart score). As usually, let us know if stuff looks broken.
@farmdawgnation great work , nice look ....
@farmdawgnation chat doesn't flash names now, only changes color!!
yes @ash2326 is right ...
Great work guys. One small thing I've noticed is that when I scroll down this page, parts of it appear behind the Like/Tweet header. Is this by design?
yes @asnaseer sir i face the same problem
I didn't mean it a problem as such - I was just curious as to whether this was a deliberate design decision or not. and please don't call me /sir/ @mathslover - makes me feel awkward :)
just saw the new /invite/ page - finally an easy way to invite new users - thanks guys!
Yep, that's by design :)
I believe you :)
You guys are boss.
Hey! Sorry but I didn't get what the like button was about and also it is not clickable.
The like button is le gusta, Myin xD And I don't have a fb so I couldn't make it work if I wanted to haha
Oh! I forgot about the facebook thing.
I must admit the "Like us" pop up is kind of irritating. Every single time I log on...D:
Quick question rebecca—you've closed it and it's still coming up every time you log in?
It was that day but it didn't pop up today! Thanks for asking :)
Hm All righty, good to hear then :p
Everyone: We've had some issues with FB invites not being "acceptable" -- you could send them out, but the person couldn't accept them. We fixed a good chunk of this, but if the user you're inviting uses "https" on facebook (i.e. if yr web address is https://www.facebook.com rather than http://wwwfacebook.com), then they may have some issues. I doubt you and yr friends sit around and discuss who uses https or not, so we obviously are working to get this fixed Real Soon Like (tm). Just a heads up! Thanks for being you.
I also talk about the security side of http. ;P
I don't really like the SmartScore on the top right, also I think that the old buttons were great, and they looked gorgeous.
I agree that the old buttons are gorgeous. We might play with the arrangement some, we'll see. But you know us, we're going to wait at least a few weeks and see what the metrics say about the new buttons before doing anything. ;) Thanks for the feedback man.
