    hint: subtract 2x from both sides..that will make the 2x on the left side become 0 correct?

    since you subtract 2x on the left side you subtract 2x on the right side too 2x - 2x - 3 = 4x - 2x - 5 0 - 3 = 4x - 2x - 5 so what's 4x - 2x?

    like i was saying... 2x - 2x - 3 = 4x - 2x - 5 0 - 3 = 4x - 2x - 5 so what's 4x - 2x?

    More you can do to understand better, take x common from 2x - 2x : x(2-2) = x(0) = 0
