what is an example of "seeing the general in particular"?

    Seeing the general in particular would be to look at our society as a whole. Basically, look at the Airport situation: the fact that most people at our airports just spend the time looking at their watches and cellphone. They are checking the time, but barely anyone misses their plane. That could tell us something about our society. Although some people might actually have a legitimate reason to be checking the time, but the rest is uncalled for. What you make of it is your choice, but that's an example.
