This is the ineuality that I need to solve |2X+1|-3 > 6 My work: 2X+1>9 2X+1<-9 -1 -1 -1 -1 _____________________ 2X>8 2X<-10 My answers: x>4 X<-5 But what doesnt make sense is that X is greater than four but at the same time less than -5 I dont think I did this right!

if i move forward 4 feet, il land in safe area. if i move backward 5 feet also, its safe
i need to move either four feet forward (or) 5 feet backward
anything less than 4 and greater than -5 is dangerous
i can express the situation as : move >4 distance or move <-5 distance
x > 4 or x < -5
hope i didnt confuse u too much :\
Well I got it when you said the first thing sorry:D Thanks sooooo much
np... glad to hear u got it :)
