I know how to "measure" the diameter of the earth using Google(Earth), does that count?

My thought was "get directions" or "calculate distance" between points on the opposite side of the globe (then divide by pi). Latitude, Longitude should work, you know, 0.0,0.0 -> 0.0,180.0.
