Like is that missing the answer you gave? Completely? o.o
Hmm, I'll look into this @jagatuba - not sure why/how that would have happened right now. I'll let you know ASAP, thanks!
@rebeccaskell94 Yes missing completely what was probably a 500-800 word answer (which is why I would rather point users to it rather than re-type it) that I have referred users to on more than one occasion and this is not the only post missing answers that I gave. This is another question that I had a good (and long) answer to that is no longer there: http://openstudy.com/users/jagatuba#/updates/4f5a12dae4b0636d8905b944
I will be the third to say... that is awfully strange. There are medals awarded on that question, but no replies, meaning something got deleted somehow. This is obviously not A Good Thing and something we definitely want to make sure doesn't happen, so I'm taking a look now.
Seems to me the entire question should be deleted if there is no answer to them anymore. What's the point?
What's up with the no name medal giving?
Seems like some medals got taken away from you, either by user choice or by an error similar to the one above. Either way, it shouldn't display on yr profile.
I LOST MEDALS?!?! WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH. Or as Pac-Man would say: Wooooooooooo-bloop-bloop!
Waka Waka! http://www.comicbookreligion.com/img/f/o/Fozzie_Bear.jpg
ew that link is forbidden for me, hippoman.
Wow. This is pretty weird stuff. It's possible we're looking at an issue with the downtime we experienced a few weeks ago. There were some database consistency issues, and it's possible we actually lost some data there. Feury's looking into it, but this definitely seems unusual.
What is even more bizarre about this is, using some keywords from the post, I find this google search: http://bit.ly/MkYBvW Notice that the first search result even has a snippet of my answer, but check out the bizzaro world that you are teleported into when you click the link... I think this is OpenStudy in another dimension.
Yea that makes sense. We serve a special page up to users who come from search :X. That one is without any replies as well. I've got yr original reply from a backup from 4/23 if you're interested, but I'm tracing that update from that point to the current point in the backups to see where we could have gone wrong. The hunt continues...
Even more bizzare... Click on some of the links on that alternat OS site. I find it funny that @shadowfiend seems to have been warned about a sailboat?????
As for serving up a special page for those coming from search . . . I believe you and all, but when I search "openstudy jagatuba" I get several results that take me to the normal site. Plus on the bizarro site, if you click sign up now you are redirected to the Catapult site rather than OS proper.
Just a question on the technical side regarding that page: Are you using a JSON feed to supply content to that page? I ask because the formatting is all wonky and I have experienced that in the past when trying to translate JSON into formatted XHTML.
You'll only get the search specific page if you're logged out and all-that-jazz. It looks a little funky when it's cached like that so I wouldn't consider it usable at all, heh. I'm not sure why google didn't cache the stylesheet for that page, but it's definitely fully un-styled. As far as json goes, that search specific page is fully rendered server side (with the exception of drawings/equations being rendered). Most of our site, however, is rendered by serving up a "base template", making a call for the json data to our server, and using that json to render up our 'views' (we use an awesome little library called KnockoutJS, if you're curious).
lol jagatuba that happened to me. I'll have to see if I can find the post that was in though
Okay! that took forever I had to find KingGeorge through another person because I haven't fanned him yet and then look through his profile. Like a stalker. http://openstudy.com/users/kinggeorge#/updates/5001af83e4b0848ddd661f87
