Simplify. 12k + 3 -( 4k + 2) is this the right answer 8k+5

    expand first 12k + 3 -4k -2 collect like terms 12k -4k + 3-2 8k + 1

    Sorry, forgot to distribute the negative 1 So when you do, it would be: 12k+3-4k-2 Like terms: 12k and -4k=8k 3 and -2=1 8k+1
