when y = 0 x^2  x  2 = 0 x^2 +x2x2=0 x(x+1)2(x+1) = 0 (x+1)(x2)=0 x = ? and x = ?

when x = 1 (x+1)(x2) = (1+1)(12) = 2(1) = 2

almost break it up x+1 = 0 or x2 = 0

notice the only time two things multiplied by each other can = 0 is if one or the other is 0
