    Triangle PQR is similar to triangle ABC in the figure below. What is the perimeter of triangle ABC?

    Use a proportion to find that the missing side is 3.

    Use ratios to solve 4/4.8 and 5/6 I'd use the five:six 5/6 = 2/x You can cross-multiply to solve. You can also use scaling factors to solve. 5x=6 4x=4.8 Once you solve for x you can multiply 2 times your x and you will have your missing side of the larger triangle.
