i personally think if one is confident with that particular question, and skipping a little steps is alright, just don't skip major ones, step on scrap papers, yes you can skip, but steps in exams, no.

okay with all these subjects, you need to get the student in which you are helping to tell what they need help with.

than before you do any of the work have them show you what they know about that problem already and ask to see what they are having trouble with

than once the it is clear, work the problem by typing it out in words and than draw it like you were doing. In the typing step by step always so the student can see what is happening where
