    1. Users appear to be offline when they're not 2. Users are "looking around" when they're actually in a question they've posted. 3. Users appear to be missing from the question they've posted when they're really present 4. When posting a response to a question, it takes longer than a minute for the qeustion to post after you've hit the "Post" button. If anyone can think of anymore annoying glitches, by all means post them.

Thanks @Hero - some one from the Dev team will take a look at these - I *believe* that the first 3 are basically the same thing. However, I'll suspend my typical speculations for another time. ;) As to the last one, I've been experiencing an issue where I post a response, and the response, preview, and the active text field (where you type), all show the response. However, I haven't heard anyone else report the same issue.

So you're getting minute-long waits for a question to post but it is eventually going through?

Sometimes I have to completely log off of OS and close my web browser and making sure I have copied what I was about to post. Then I'd have to re-open the web browser, go back to OS, log back on, find the question again, then paste it back into the box, then hit post again and hope I don't have to wait longer. This is all assuming that the student is still present and hasn't logged off of OS due to frustration.

It happens mostly in the math group.

So it's not posting at all. That's a different problem altogether; we do know about that one.

Theres a glitch if a person is online and is on a question if they exit their browser (without signing out) it will still appear as if they are still online even though their offline. Dont know if this is just Google Chrome

This is something that should expire after about 3-5 minutes. If you consistently see it lasting beyond that time frame because of browser quits, then we have some issues.

another thing I have notice big delays in posting on math board, you go to post a reply and there is this red circle with a line through it that appears. Also, when I am typing my courser is delayed big time.

I've noticed the same thing @Libniz reports. Typically in the evenings (Central Standard time). Though sometimes that goes on for a few minutes then refreshing will bring up a blue screen and a message about an owl guarding new features. Every now and then I see the static parts of the site and any dynamic content (I assume Javascript or JQuery of some such) will just sit with little "waiting" spinners going. It's not so often that I find it prohibitive, I wholeheartedly believe OS is awesome. I typically just figure it's a really popular site that's a bit overloaded in that moment and go get tea. It usually resolves itself in the few minutes it takes to brew a cup.

So, in regard to the waiting, 503's, and page only showing the header issues - these are all related. We've actually begun to suspect that these are being causes by some inefficiencies in our code that renders our pages for search bots. (Because we're mostly AJAX'd we have different rendering code for them.) To test this theory we're going to direct search traffic to a dedicated process and see if things improve substantially. If they do, we know where to start looking!

This is some great stuff. We know there are issues scattered about, but since we've been focusing on expanding our server architecture, we've grown a bit of a bug problem. we'll be around to terminex these problems soon, and it's very helpful to have a list from the people that use the site the most out of any of us. A lot of these are related issues, but luckily, I think we're familiar with most. Thanks for the feedback, and please keep it coming. Also, new, tasty goodies on the way soon ;)

Hello, just adding to this glitch-list.. Was writing a warning and when I hit "send" it didn't send (which I then stupidly clicked a few times) . I closed the box and tried again and it worked. Poor guy got 5 warnings :/

When I select 'equation', sometimes when I move the box a little to the left (to view the question while typing out the equation) it stays in its 'move' form. As in, I can't deselect it (even when i click outside of the box). I'm not sure if it's just me but it has been happening to me a lot. Recently, my cursor and the equation box have been repelling each other. So far, I've had two cases where I open up the equation box and try to select the box to type in it and the box moves by itself to the top left corner until it disappears from my sight. I'm serious. I've also checked to see if in any way I could've some how caused this, but my finger was lifted from the mousepad when it happened... :/

Yeah, we're aware of the issue with the box staying in move mode. Although, we haven't been able to reproduce it on our end. If you come up with a magic combination that always causes it to happen, let us know! The equation box moving out of sight on its own accord is a new one though. What browser are you running?
