What does Jesus christ say, Jesus christ says in new testament , gospel of mathew ch 5 verses 17-20 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil'For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven"

@hba that is not true. @Yahoo! I couldn't understand what he was saying:/ Maybe you should ask this question to Christians, because despite there being a wide variety of christian religions, I don't believe I've ever heard of pork being haraam for any of them. In Islam it is believed to be harraam, but a muslim cannot "prove" what a christian's belief is. Also: Mark 7:14-23: “Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, ‘Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a man can make him unclean by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him unclean.’

Just wanted to point out that I wasn't being defensive there^ when I said "a muslim cannot "prove" what a christian's belief is". I was just saying that a Muslim believes strongly in his faith and it'd be difficult for them to explain a christian's faith without bias for their own beleifs.

Peace Are u allowed to consume pork and alcohol in christianity? this is what he bible has to say: Pork in Bible "And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you". "Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch, they are unclean to you."[Leviticus 11:7-8] "And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass." [Deuteronomy 14:8] "Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day."

@Yahoo! I'm having trouble understanding him...I've gone over the video like 3 times but its confusing me. Not necessarily... If we go word by word on the old testament, then an adulterous person would have to die because of their sin. Jesus died for us, to clean us from the sin that our first fathers transmitted to us. He gave us the opportunity to repent for our sins. Remember that he changed several things in the law... an example would be the holy Saturday, which is not a requisite. *Sorry if I'm not making sense, I have trouble explaining myself in English on these topics.

Pork is regarded as one of the kinds of meat that contain the most cholesterol, an increase of which in the bloodstream leads to an increased likelihood of blocked arteries. The fatty acids in pork are also of an unusual formation, when compared with the fatty acids in other types of food, which makes them more easily absorbed by the body, thus increasing cholesterol levels. Pork meat and pork fat contribute to the spread of cancers of the colon, rectum, prostate and blood. Pork meat and pork fat contribute to obesity and related diseases that are difficult to treat. Eating pork leads to scabies, allergies and stomach ulcers. Eating pork causes lung infections which result from tapeworms, lungworms and microbial infections of the lungs. The doctors have confirmed that the most serious danger of eating pork is that pork contains tapeworms. The growth of its eggs in the human body may lead to insanity and hysteria if they grow in the area of the brain. If they grow in the region of the heart, it may lead to high blood pressure and heart attacks. It may develop in the small intestine and after several months may grow into a large worm whose body is composed of a thousand segments, with a length of 4-10 meters, which lives alone in the intestine of the infected person and part of it may appear when he defecates. When the pig swallows and ingests its eggs, they enter the tissues and muscles in the form of larvae sacs containing fluid and the head of the tapeworm. When a person eats infected pork, the larva turns into a complete worm in the intestine. These worms cause weakness and vitamin B12 deficiency, which leads to a specific type of anemia, which may in turn cause nervous problems. In some cases the larvae may reach the brain, causing convulsions, increased pressure within the brain, epilepsy and even paralysis. Another kind of worm that is to be found in pork is the trichinosis (infestation with a hair-like nematode worm) that cannot be killed by cooking, the growth of which in the body may lead to paralysis and skin rashes. When these parasites reach the small intestine, three to five days later many larvae appear which enter the intestine and reach the blood, from which they reach most of the tissues of the body. The larvae move to the muscles and form cysts there, and the patient suffers intense muscle pains. The disease may develop into infection of the cerebral membrane and brain, and infections of the heart muscle, lungs, kidneys and nerves. It may be a fatal disease in rare cases. It is well known that there are some diseases that are unique to humans and are not shared with any other animals except pigs, such as rheumatism and joint pain.

@hba open up to the rest of the bible, don't get stuck in Mathew 5: 17-20. Look at the context and other bible texts, then talk. Why a red letter bible? Both the old and new testament are vital and important. The new testament includes Jesus' words. @Yahoo! Pork does affect some people, but it doesn't mean its a venom if you eat it every once in a while. A friend of ours(hes christian) does not eat pork because of his health, but he respects others who do. Vegetarians believe any meat is bad for their health and only eat veggies, so if some people believe pork is bad, does that condemn all of use to do the same?

In Leviticus God forbids the consumption of pork. This can be found in the OT Christian Bible. God said this because at the time there was a famine going around that could cause serious injury or death because mankind did not posses the knowledge or medicine. This law only applied to a small group of people in the Middle East. As for the NT, there is no Biblical record of Jesus forbidding pork for all of mankind, rather a group; if anything. There are a lot of misunderstanding from the OT and NT. Many people get them confused with one another.

Exactly. The modern day Bible is wrong. Hba, scholars would agree that the red text is Jesus, but not all scholars. They only think that's what he said; they can't actually prove it.

Starting off on a rather interseting topic that most Christians seem to blindly believe what they read in their daily Bible. A common misconception is that Satan was cast from Heaven into a place called, "Hell." The verse is from Isaiah 14:12, and reads, "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!"This sounds good, and makes it appear that Him(God,) case Lucifer from Heaven into a lake of fire, however, that is not the case. Now let us read that same verese, but this time not from the KJV, and straight from the Hebrew text, "How have you fallen from heaven, the morning star? You have been cut down to earth, You who cast lots on nations." As you can see Lucifer wasn't even refferenced in the original text. The Hebrew text has no Lucifer. Psalms 139:8 reads, "If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there."This verse is sayin that God is in Heaven and hell, that he is everywhere. It sounds like a nice verse at first glance, but lets back it up and read the original Hebrew text. Psalms - Chapter 1398. "If I ascend to the heavens, there You are, and if I make my bed in the grave, behold, You are there."You can clearly see that there is no Hell mentioned in the original text. Xtians changed it to promote their own agenda. There is a verse that speaks about the Lord being my Sheppard, sounds good, right? The word, "Sheppard," did not have the same meaning it does in modern day time. It really means, "hero." Lets now translate that with the original text, "he Lord is my hero; I shall not want.”You can see, there are many transulations in the KJB that are often ignored, and Christians don't think much of it because they honestly don't care. So what about Hell? Does it exist? Some theologians will argue that Hell is a metaphysical place, and the flames are symbolic for suffering and pain. This is because the word Hades is used in the original Biblical text before we replaced it with the word, "Hell." The translation, "Hell," was translated by a German because, "Hades," translated to German is, "Holl," or, "Hoell." Preounced, "Ho-ell." Gehhenna is a place near israel used to burn and decay garbage and dead soldiers. Gehhenna was always on fire, and was reffered as the Lake of Fire. Christ talked about Gehenna and is references in the Bible. Clearly it would be inappropriate at the time to use, "Gehhenna," at the time because the Jews would think of a garbage dump. He was therefor not referring to Gehhenna as a place of punishment or suffering. Matthew 10:28 28 "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.”12:5 " But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into Gehenna; yes, I tell you, fear Him!” Matthew 10:28 states that the soul will be destroyed in Gehhenna, thus, destorying the consciousness. The Bible also speaks about the soul being the life, your physical body dying, and your soul(life) going to Gehenna and being destroyed. It sounds like what God is really saying here is, -- "You can worship me if you want, it's your choice. If you do I will reward you, but if you do not worship me nothing will happen at all; you will simply not exist anymore." Sheol is another term used in the original text, and the translation follows between the lines of, "an earthly grave." Jacob speaks about Sheon, and says that all men and women will go there. Even the rightous and unrightous will recieve the same treatment. There is a verse were Job even speaks positively of Sheon, 14:13 "Oh that You would hide me in Sheol, That You would conceal me until Your wrath returns to You, That You would set a limit for me and remember me!” Certainly Job would not prefer the torments of a fiery hell to his unfortunate circumstances on earth. The Egyptian God, Osiris, father of Horus, who came from Heaven to save mankind from their sins, born of a virgin, healed people with miracles, talked to a serpent in the desert, had 12 followers, and get this; he died on the Cross and was revived three days letter to let all man know how to seek salvations and then he went to Heaven with his father Osiris. This all according 120BC, before Jesus walked the earth.Thoughts and opinions are appreciated.
