Process of elimination is a good way to approach multiple choice questions. We'll work through it. To start with, do any options strike you as being most or least likely and why?

I would like to add that it is important to understand all the scientific vocabulary. Sometimes a question could seem very difficult but the logic sense always will give you the right answer. What is the real difference between life and non-life things...? Life needs energy whereas non-living things are only matter. I hope that this guide you to the answer

Thank you and I'm not sure. I would think that "C" wouldn't work because a non-living thing couldn't have an offspring.

I agree - C is out and for the reason you stated. And A and B are very similar - they both involve metabolic, energy producing or energy using processes.

@blues Wouldn't "B" not work because non-living things can't have reactions? And "A" wouldn't work because non-living things aren't made of cells? So it would have to be "D". Right?
