The Puritans left England because they wanted the right to practice their religion as they saw fit, and not be bound by the theology of the Church of England. They also wanted to escape being forced to support the Church of England.
When the Puritans left England to go to the new world, they probably didn't know anything about the tobacco plants. Communications in the 1600s was poor. They probably didn't know that anyone was growing cotton in the new world. In addition, the soil in New England was rocky, not fertile. That's the reason the tobacco and cotton plantations were located in Virginia rather than New England. ►That eliminates to build large tobacco plantations on the fertile soil of New England
Leaving England would not show support for the king. Think about it. How would leaving England support the king? It doesn't make sense. ►That eliminates to escape the English civil war and show support for the king
