Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1Electron configuration of Si; \[1s ^{2} 2s ^{2} 2p ^{6} 3s ^{2} 3p ^{2}\] If you draw an Energy Diagram(for Si) you'll see that the 3rd energy level (3s,3p,4s and 3d) has 4 electrons in total.
