Add 9 to both sides. what u get ?

3. anonymous

My choices: A. –3, 3 B. –9, 9 $-\sqrt{3}, \sqrt{3}$ D. no real number solutions

4. hartnn

Add 9 to both sides. what u get ?

5. anonymous

C?

6. hartnn

Add 9 in both sides of x^2-9 =0 what u get? u don't get direct answers here, sorry.

7. anonymous

@hartnn, I dont know how to... I get 81 - 9 = 0 which im pretty sure is wrong

9. hartnn

how did u get 81 ?

10. anonymous

$9^{2}$

11. hartnn

why did u put x=9 ?

12. anonymous

what?

13. hartnn

u got 81 by 9^2 but why 9^2 ? keep it as x^2 u have x^2-9=0 Adding 9 to both sides, x^2-9+9=0+9 x^2+0=9 x^2=9 can u solve this ?

@hartnn help me for this problem Write an equation with the variable on each both side of the equal sign, at least one fractional cofficient, and a solution of-6. Thank you

15. hartnn

@Lovie03 i answered that, check it.

16. anonymous

how you get that

17. hartnn

@chicagochica5 x^2=9 can u solve this ?

18. hartnn

taking square root on both sides, x= +3 or x=-3

19. anonymous

@hartnn, im sorry I do not understand what to do or how to solve
