Somu of Yahoo! Answers gives a good explanation of COM here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090330203059AAyw6no, and it's made me learn something new. But (s)he never really gives a physical reasoning about why the math he uses works, so I literally can rattle off the mathematical process without understanding a thing. Any explanation would be highly appreciated!
