I just did an analysis of Yukawa potential orbits and coincidentally the positive solution to that is the threshold value of a parameter which governs whether there can be bound states .... but I suspect that's not what you're looking for.

this is a ubiquitous number the Goden Ratio  is the threshhold between chaotic and Nonchaotic behaviour in KAM theory. Kolmogorov Arnold Moser
