    If a piece of data is in a certain percentile, say the 68th percentile, then it means that 68% of the data is either the same value as it or less than it. So if you had your exam results back and it said that you were placed in the 78th percentile, then it means that you did as well as or better than 78 percent of people. Does that make sense?
