Fries + 4g = 3*Burger Fries - Burger = 46g (not Burger - Fries since it says Fries is larger) solve one system for either Burger or Fries and plug it into the other system

that's right! now solve one equation for y or x. I would suggest you re-write the second equation as y = 46 + x (just take x to the other side). Now put (46 + x) into y in the first equation.
everything will be in terms of y, so you can solve for y. Then plug y back into 2nd equation and you will find x!
