how do you work out 216^1/3

    216^1/3 means cube root of 216. the answer is 6

    If a number raised to a certain degree it means "multiply this number x times". If it is a fraction, the numerator is the degree raised and the denominator is the "root" of the number. So it is one thirds. It means find a number multiplied three times to get 216.
