Why and how does a person hallucinate?

    Many things can cause a person to hallucinate, Most times from lack of sleep or water. In some case Caffeine or Medical Drugs. How a person hallucinates has many opinions a few is it is how the brain copes with surprise or stress, or you emotions. Lots of more information can be found if you check Wikipedia :D

    Also LSD can cause Hallucination. (and flashbacks)

    I do know the causative agents.....Was hoping to find answer related to nervous system.
