the volume of a cone is given by $V = \frac{ 1 }{ 3 }\pi r^2h$

3. anonymous

r = 30 is given to us but h will need to be calculated using the pythagorean theorem

4. anonymous

so...what's the answer? I tried it and it doesn't give me the correct answer.

5. anonymous

maybe you made a mistake in calculating h. using pythagorean theorem... $50^2 = h^2 + 30^2$ h should then equal $h = \sqrt{50^2 - 30^2}$

6. anonymous

from here you just need to plug the numbers into a calculator

7. anonymous

I don't have a calculator -_-

programs -> accessories -> calculator
