you're at a smartscore of 76 and you're not aware of the filter? #weird with the state of OS right now, I would expect anyone at all who joins the site to know about the word filter within 24 hours of site use lol but oh well. just don't use censored words ;)
anonymous
  • anonymous
why would you expect that?
anonymous
  • anonymous
do people (attempt) to curse you out that frequently?
sasogeek

do you read the chat at all? ever? lol

Saso, not everyone uses chat or talks to other users. So there is a chance she...or..he.. may not have known of the filter. :P
anonymous
  • anonymous
No. ...but I was asking about the reasoning behind the replacement terms.
anonymous
  • anonymous
Algebraic, its just so the troll users dont cuss people out and offend other users. If its filtered by a different word, no one will know what you're talking about. Thats all.

-_-' i didnt and i knew about this site with my friend for a whole year.....
sasogeek
  • sasogeek
well every now and then, you are most likely to find a stupid person in the chat who wants to cuss at ppl so the filter was made for them so that it reduces the effect of the real words, at least those words are less effective than the cuss words.

Naw, I was asking why someone would pick terms like 'feather' and 'fluttering'. You know what, just forget it. Something to do with an owl fetish; that's all I wanted to know.
sasogeek
  • sasogeek
PS. read the OS feedback a lot.
anonymous

lol owl fetish.... Its because the site is owl themed, because owls show wisdom and learning.. So the filter would change them to OWL words. Does that make sense?

@sasogeek why PM if you only accept messages from fanned users?
anonymous
  • anonymous
I do that, too, because people always send me questions thru PM, or they ask me really creepy questions.
sasogeek
  • sasogeek
lol i didn't know i hadn't fanned you. i used to get too many messages from ppl for direct help via messages, had to put a restriction on that :)

^Exactly what I just said.
