I'm going to need more details here. What kinds of books do you like? What's "understandable" to you?

I would say Cirque Du Freak, books by mary downing hahn. Hunger Games, The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. Also for horror I would say Stephen King or Edgar Allen Poe. Some books from Stephen King that I liked were: the dead zone, It, Salems Lot and Misery. I home I answered your question I think you were just asking about some good books to read. These are all mystery and horror and I really enjoyed them and Im a picky reader.

rva.raghav, not everyone likes the same books or has the same standards for "understandable". If you're asking a question and I'm trying to think of the best way to help you, you should be clearer. I personally love Neil Gaiman, though I don't know about "thrills" in that one. Still, he writes great short stories and some are pretty creepy.

I would suggest Dan Brown Angles and Demons, Da Vinci Code, and Lost Symbol. The Hunger Games is good as long as you don;t mind some a of teenage girl confusion (there is very little its not like twilight). Also if you like funny Rick Riordan all of his stuff is action adventure humor! Harry Potter books are fun to read for the world, and if you want to get a really good plot line, even if it isn't a book try reading the manga or watching the anime Fullmetal Alchemist I think this too might hold what you are looking for :)
