lol... well look at my second picture... you see that each side is 19 in? well the problem wants us to cut a square out of each corner of "x" length, so if each side starts of as 19 in, and we cut out a square on each side of length x, then 19 take away x on one side and take away x on the other side, leaves us with (19-2x) once the square is cut out.
