    2x + 10 + 26 = 212 2x + 36 = 212 2x + 36 - 36 = 212 - 36 2x = 176 2x/ 2 = 176/ 2 x = 88

    2x + 10 + 26 = 212 Combine like terms 2x + 36 = 212 Subtract 36 from both sides in order to get x by itself 2x = 176 Divide both sides by 2 in order to get rid of the coefficient x = 88
