Method 1: Use a compass and straightedge Convert all line segments of the rectangle into lines. Then use a compass to draw a circle centered at one vertex of the rectangle and it has a width of the rectangle. This will double the side length. Do this for all 4 sides. Method 2: Measure out each side length with a ruler. Double each measurement and draw out the doubled dimensions using a ruler and a pencil.

can't you just multiply the answer L x W by 2.. to get the answer?

5. jim_thompson5910

more like multiply each dimension by 2

6. LonelyandForgotten

yes..

7. jim_thompson5910

L x W turns into 2L x 2W
