Can I linearlize a system of non-linear DEs and then solve the linearized set of equations using normal methods (Eigenvectors and Eigenvalues)?

    Sure, why not? Of course, you will get linear results to your non-linear system. Please check the reasonableness of your solutions before you build anything.
