- ghazi

stop pretending , put up your questions now

- anonymous

hahaha... no im not, seriously i cant find it :(

- ghazi

question?

- anonymous

well, i guess i will just work on something else in math, i will do that when i find it :P

- ghazi

okay next science

- anonymous

that powerpoint? i am going to do that tonight :)

- ghazi

huh

- anonymous

hehe.. yes :)

- ghazi

@LonelyandForgotten here

- anonymous

here it is :P

##### 1 Attachment

- ghazi

wait a sec :)

- anonymous

sure :D

- anonymous

okay.. :P

- anonymous

haha this is funny :D

- ghazi

lol i am editing it, there are some grammatical mistakes, like in third slide, there should be comma after well

- anonymous

sure, edit it the way you like :)

- ghazi

yea yea :D

- anonymous

:)

- ghazi

here is your edited one, it is brilliant and indeed you are genius, just a few minor changes are there

##### 1 Attachment

- anonymous

oh thanks! :D

- ghazi

first read it

- ghazi

and find the places where i have done editing

- anonymous

yes i can see some :D

- ghazi

now maths lol

- ghazi

@LonelyandForgotten finally no maths, okay great

- anonymous

yep, no maths today :P

- ghazi

okay

- anonymous

can you help with ordered pairs? :/ thats easyy stuff, i cant do that :D

- ghazi

post your question please

- anonymous

can *

- ghazi

then post what you can't

- anonymous

okay well one is.. Determine whether the ordered pair (2, 15) is a solution of y = 4x - 7.

- ghazi

put the value of x=2 and y=15 if this satisfies the equation then it is a solution else it is not like
y=15, x=2
15=4*2-7
15 can't be equal to 8-7 which is 1 so as 15 can't be =1 therefore it is not a solution of this y=4x-7

- anonymous

umm..okay i think i got that :D

- ghazi

next

- anonymous

umm this... :D
A plumbing company charges $50 for a service call and $15 per hour. They went on a 3-hour job. How much did the company earn?
A. $195

- anonymous

sorry..
A. $195
B. $165
C. $95
D. $65

- ghazi

well, $50 is charge and extra of $15 per hour so for three hours it will be $15*3=$45 and $50 is service call charge so total of $50+$45=$95 okay?

- anonymous

hmm... wait a sec :D

- ghazi

sure , next please

- anonymous

most of the questions are like this, Determine whether the ordered pair (5, 3) is a solution of y = 3x – 4. .... i just wanna know how to solve those :/

- ghazi

look in all these equations just put x=5 and y=3 actually the content of bracket (5,3) are the values of x and y (x,y) now if putting x=5 and y=3 in the equation y=3x-4 satisfies then it is a solution else not now put x=5 and y=3
3=3*5-4=15-4=11
3=15-4 which is not correct if we would have obtained 3=3 then it must be the solution but we got 3=11 which is false so its not a solution

- ghazi

clear?

- anonymous

i dont get it :/ where did the 15 and 11 come from?

- ghazi

@LonelyandForgotten ??

- anonymous

i am here.. :D

- ghazi

well at the place of x in the equation put x=5 and at y put y=3
now y=3x-4
put y=3 and x-5
3=3*5-4 ------------ 3*5= 15
3=15-4------------15-4=11
3=11 this is false , clear?

- anonymous

okay it seems confusing but i will go over this a few times later, but thanks :)

- ghazi

just put y= its value and x= the value of x as in ordered pair in the equation and if both the sides are equal you will have it as solution else no

- ghazi

and this will help you more i guess http://www.virtualnerd.com/pre-algebra/algebra-tools/test-ordered-pair-equation-solution.php

- ghazi

next?

- anonymous

please can we stop for now.. i dont wanna do this :(

- ghazi

one more

- anonymous

umm.. are you sure? :D

- ghazi

hahah am i sure come on keep asking

- anonymous

This is Last one.. please
7. Use a table of solutions to find the ordered pair solution for y = 4x – 6 when x = 10.
A. (34, 10)
B. (10, 34)
C. (10, 8)
D. (8, 10)

- ghazi

no after this you're gonna do it unless you're finished :)

- anonymous

nope im not even close to being done :P

- ghazi

if we put x=10 in the equation y=4x-6 we will get
y= 4*10-6 , just at the place of x put x=10
y=40-6
y=34 therefore your ordered pair is (10,34) which means when x=10 , y=34 clear?

- anonymous

yes clear! :P

- ghazi

hmm next ? unless you are finished

- anonymous

yes i am finished, now thanks! :P lol

- anonymous

actually no.. sorry :)

- ghazi

next

- ghazi

question ? :)

- anonymous

wait please :(

- ghazi

okay :)

- anonymous

this :D

- anonymous

whats a quadric eqaution?

- anonymous

or quadratic* sorry

- ghazi

quadratic equations are those whose degree is two like the equation in which maximum power of x is 2 and minimum too like \[x^2+x+2=0, x^2+1=0, x^2=0\] equations in which power of x is two are quadratics ,so this type of equations are not quadratic , \[x+1=0, x^3+3x^2+x+3=0\] in quadratic power of x must be 2

- ghazi

so your answer is option D cuz its cubic x has power 3 clear?

- anonymous

hmmm.. alright :)

- ghazi

next

- anonymous

whats a parabola?

- ghazi

its a conic section, created from the intersection of a right circular conical surface and a plane parallel to a generating straight line of that surface. like consider this |dw:1353988143775:dw| its a parabola and every quadratic equation represents a parabola so all the equations with degree two which means power of x should be 2 represents a prabola

- ghazi

?? clear??

- anonymous

|dw:1353988155323:dw|

- anonymous

is it B?

- ghazi

lol its B

- anonymous

sorry for my bad drawing :P lol thanks !! :D

- ghazi

A- straight line
C- cubic curve
D- hyperbolic so its B clear?

- anonymous

yes clear thank you! :D

- ghazi

next ?

- anonymous

hmm should i draw the next question or just do screen shot of it, i think drawing would be too slow :P

- ghazi

take snap shot and attach it here fast

- anonymous

alrighty :)

- anonymous

there you go :D

##### 1 Attachment

- ghazi

do you know what is vertex? if not then remember every parabola has lowest and highest point that point is called as vertex like the point where curve takes a turn
here in this picture its (-2,1) clear??

- ghazi

just see the point in the graph where parabola take,s turn at the bottom

- anonymous

ohh hmm i didnt know that well thanks that helps a lot i think i can do this now :D

- ghazi

great next??

- anonymous

noo i will finish this now :D

- ghazi

next please viki? i know you won't so ask now

- anonymous

what does X-intercepts mean?

- anonymous

hellloo :P

- ghazi

well x intercept means where the curve cuts the x axis or where the line meets x axis here in an example|dw:1353988840083:dw| in this graph we can see that line cuts x axis at 2,0 so x intercept is 2 and y is 3

- ghazi

lol let me explain ;)

- ghazi

intercept simply means the point where curve cuts the axes okay?

- anonymous

huh? :/

- ghazi

what is it not clear?

- anonymous

|dw:1353989048953:dw|
you mean these things?

- ghazi

its the point on axes like x axis or y where the curve cuts it okay like take an example of line |dw:1353989013085:dw| so that point 4, 0 says line cuts x axis at 4 so x intercept is 4

- ghazi

yes those things , where line passes the axis

- anonymous

hmm alright i understand now, thanks :D

- ghazi

|dw:1353989111817:dw|

- anonymous

so the answer is (-3,3) ?

- ghazi

no intercept will always have either x=0 or y=0 so it could be (4.0) or (0,3)

- anonymous

but it cant be 4 because line crosses at 3 :/

- ghazi

intercept is the length of or part of either axis where line cuts it so for x intercept you have to put y coordinate=0 and for y you have to put x=0
yes x intercept is 2 because line cuts x axis at 2 and y intercept is 3 cuz line cuts y at 3

- ghazi

clear?

- anonymous

but itc cant be 2!! it has to be one of the answer choices

- anonymous

it*

- ghazi

show me the question please if it asks for x intercept then it would be, 2,0 or if it asks for y then it would be 0,3 show me question please

- anonymous

here you go

##### 1 Attachment

- ghazi

we just did it lol come on are you awake

- anonymous

wait sorry wrong question !! my bad :(

- anonymous

wait :D

- ghazi

quick ;)

- anonymous

there! :D

##### 1 Attachment

- ghazi

look in to th graph it cuts x axis twice at -1 and at -3 so can you find what are the x intercepts?

- ghazi

remember y would be zero

- anonymous

is it A? im not really sure :/

- ghazi

come on if it is cutting x axis at -1 and -3 then x intercepts are
-3,0 and -1,0 , silly :) clear?

- anonymous

hmm okay got it! :D thanks :D

- ghazi

next ? :)

- anonymous

wait pelase

- ghazi

sure

- anonymous

lol Please*

- ghazi

hehe

- anonymous

:D

- ghazi

come on now question please

- anonymous

|dw:1353989991234:dw|
here is your question ;)

- ghazi

helloooooooooooooooo?

- anonymous

heheheh :D

- ghazi

OMG i was scared of this lol wait a sec

i am all here for my baby bunny , now question please

- ghazi

its place to study not for romance ;)

- anonymous

hehehe :D i know ;) lets carry on :D

- ghazi

post it :D

- anonymous

hehehe your funny :D

- anonymous

wait please :D

- ghazi

come on , hey shall we delete those cuz moderators will ban us lol i have taken photo of it

- anonymous

hmm okay :(

- ghazi

okay leave it as it is :) <3 and baby next question please

- anonymous

im not scared of mods :P and this question is closed anyway :D

- ghazi

okay sweetheart next question please

- ghazi

next question??

- ghazi

i know you are doing something again

- anonymous

|dw:1353990534628:dw|
wow sorry that took too long :P

- ghazi

cant you judge , x should have power of 2 so which one it is??

- anonymous

B. ?

- ghazi

correct :)

- anonymous

hmm great thank you :D

- ghazi

next?

- anonymous

hmm i wont draw this time :D

##### 1 Attachment

- ghazi

parabola always have power 2 okay and its drawn up side which means positive
so its B , clear?

- anonymous

ohh okay :D thank you! :D

- ghazi

next?

- anonymous

|dw:1353991046364:dw|

- ghazi

what to do in this?? lol

- anonymous

should i post screen shot instead lol ?

- ghazi

what you are supposed to find in this question? vertex?

- anonymous

yes find the vertex :D

- ghazi

and there is no coordinates hahahahaha take snapshot again lol

- anonymous

hmm alright im sorry :( i tried.. :'(

- ghazi

do it now :)

- anonymous

there you go :(

##### 1 Attachment

- anonymous

sorry :(

- ghazi

baby, look it turns at x=1 and y=4 that is the top point of parabola so its (1,4) okay :D ?

- anonymous

okay :D sorry :D this is funny though :D

- ghazi

next ?

- ghazi

lol its really funny hehe

- ghazi

next??

- anonymous

I'm thinking it is A. right?

##### 1 Attachment

- ghazi

oh no, its D, -1,0 and 3,0

- anonymous

oh crap sorry i forgot it is negative :(

- ghazi

look to represent x intercept we write it like (x,0) because y is zero for x intercept and for y intercept we write it like (0,y) cuz x =0 so it cant be A ever cuz that shows y coordinate and you have to find x clear??

- anonymous

yes clear thank you :) this is the last question :)

- anonymous

yes clear thank you :) this is the last question :)

- ghazi

next, i know this is not the last one there are 10

- anonymous

would you like to see proof?

##### 1 Attachment

- ghazi

OMG which two were incorrect and why you did it??

- ghazi

i have give right answer to every question you did it knowingly :(

- anonymous

my fault i chose the wrong answers :/

##### 1 Attachment

- anonymous

but thank you :D

- ghazi

come on you cant be that silly :(

- anonymous

i didnt know im sorrry :(

- ghazi

now open next please

- ghazi

- ghazi

@LonelyandForgotten where is my drawing ?? and how come your drawing appeared again :(

- anonymous

wait a minute, this isnt the right one :/ we were on @ghazi :) not dating place

- ghazi

oops sorry lol

- anonymous

but all that stuff is here, how come it all moved here?

- ghazi
