    Well, when you set the equation equal to zero basicly your saying when is the function crossing the x axis. so if you graph 2x^2-3x+0.5 notice where the graph is crossing the x axis. Do you have a ti-89?

    well, first u need to simplify the equation, so 2X2 =4 minus 3x plus 0.5
