Why should a journalist avoid doing things such as altering photographs for dramatic effect? Altering photographs provides audiences with images that are not credible. It makes it difficult to sell the images later for additional news revenue. People may learn how to do the same thing and begin using it improperly. Some photos, when altered, can become too emotional for audiences to see.
