    I'd probably go with the 1950s, if only because lighter and more portable cameras were created allowing journalists the mobility to snap pictures wherever they might be. Add to that the power of television, the Cold War, and the civil rights movement of the time, and there was plenty of material for journalists to cover with their cameras.
