Hi Brandi You probably wouldn't realize this by looking at my username but I'm your partner for the honors history project :) I can help you with this if you just tell me the unit and lesson :)

daniceko is right - the amino acid is specified by the codon in the mRNA - this is a sequence of three bases which binds to the anticodon in the tRNA - these are the opposite bases so A binds to U, G binds to C and so on.

There are two quick checks. The one that is 4 questions and the one that is 5 questions. I will post both of them. The 4 Questions Test: The Process of Translation Responses saved. The final score is 4/4 (100%). Multiple Choice 1. The codons that signal the end of a polypeptide chain are called (1 point) (0 pts) promoters. (0 pts) introns. (0 pts) exons. (1 pt) terminators. 1 /1 point 2. Which of the following occurs after a codon and anticodon form hydrogen bonds? (1 point) (0 pts) rRNA and protein combine to form a ribosome (0 pts) A three-base sequence binds to a peptide (1 pt) A dehydration reaction forms a peptide bond. (0 pts) tRNA carrying an amino acid binds to the ribosome. 1 /1 point 3. If cysteine is specified by the codons UGC and UGU, what are the anticodons present on tRNAs that carry cysteine? (1 point) (0 pts) TCG and TCT (0 pts) TGC and TGT (0 pts) AGC and AGA (1 pt) ACG and ACA 1 /1 point 4. Which polypeptide chain will be made during translation of the following DNA sequence? -G-C-T-T-A-G-T-C-C-A-T-A- .(1 point) (1 pt) arg-ile-arg-tyr (0 pts) pro-his-ser-ile (0 pts) gly-asn-glu-trp (0 pts) leu-ala-cys-val 1 /1 point The final score is 4/4 (100%). The 4 Questions Test: 1. D. 2. C. 3. D. 4. A. The 5 Questions Test: The Process of Translation Responses saved. The final score is 5/5 (100%). Multiple Choice 1. There are 64 codons and 20 amino acids. Which of the following is true? (1 pt) A. Several different codons can specify the same amino acid. (0 pts) B. Each codon specifies a different amino acid. (0 pts) C. Some amino acids have no link to a codon. (0 pts) D. Each amino acid is specified by only one codon. The final score is 5/5 (100%). The 5 Questions Test: 1. D. 2. C. 3. D. 4. A. 5. A.
