the unit vector with the same direction as v can be found it v divided by its magnitude

So it should be v/abs(v) (3i + j)*(1/abs(v)) (3i + j)/(3^2+1^2)^(1/2) 3i/(10)^(1/2) + j/(10)^(1/2) or (3i + j)/(10)^(1/2)

\[unit V= \frac{ 3i+j }{ \sqrt {3^2+1^2} }=\frac{ (3i+j) }{ \sqrt{10} }\]
