    No that's okay I didn't want to respond without first knowing that I was actually focusing on the correct story. She buys arsenic from the pharmacist, who is afraid she will use it to kill herself. He labels the package "for rats." No one knows the true reason why she needed the poison until the end of the story when the town finds the remains of Homer Barron's body in Emily Grierson's bed.
