In what stage of meiosis do the chromosomes thicken ...PLEASE HELP!!!! I am the kind of person to give medals ;)

    In prophase, The nuclear membrane disintegrates & the chromosomes shortens and thicken so that they are visible ad distinct rod-shaped bodies. At this time, each chromosome is doubled & consists of 2 chromatids.
